Please remember that the Cadets WA medal is NOT part of the Australian Honours Awards system and may NOT be worn with official medals such as the Australian Cadet Forces Service Medal.


Any member who does wear the the Cadets WA on the left shows disrespect for the Australian Honours and Awards system and should stop doing so immediately.


The Cadets WA medal is worn on the right on occasions which


If in doubt, refer to: AAC Standing Orders, Vol 2, Chap 2UNI, para 100 which states:


“100.​A member of the AAC may wear an award granted by the government of an Australian State / Territory, under the following conditions:


​​​a.the award is listed in Table 3* below OR the recipient has obtained written approval to wear the award from the Commander AAC (through the AAC chain of command);


​​​b.the medal or ribbon (as appropriate to the uniform type being worn) is worn on the right breast of AAC uniform - other awards / commendations normally worn on the right breast are to be worn above the State / Territory medal/s in accordance with the normal order of precedence described in this Standing Order; and


c.only when attending either:


​​​(1)​an official function of the State / Territory government that made the award; or


​​(2)a formal AAC, ANC or AAFC (but not ADF) function (such as a parade, ceremony or formal dinner, but not during general / normal duties) within the State / Territory which made the award.


*Note: The Cadets WA medal (and any clasps to that award) are included in Table 3.”
